Message from Dr. Comer, Superintendent - May 5, 2021 Bluejacket Logo

Good afternoon MCS,

Earlier today MCS was notified of three MCS staff members who had received positive COVID-19 test results.  Due to this 14 MCS students and staff entered quarantine protocol.  All of these individuals and their families have been contacted.  Also, I wanted to make all of you aware that Lawrence County did return to level “Orange” today.  Because of this, we will make adjustments if necessary.   I know what a long year this has been for all members of our MCS family.  Students, parents, and staff have all experienced the same stressful situation.  I understand the frustrations and like all of you, I cannot wait until we can safely return to a more familiar form of school.  Although it may be frustrating at times, please know MCS is doing everything we can to ensure we finish this school year with in-person learning and keeping the health and safety of our students and staff our top priority.

Sincerely,

Brent Comer, Ph.D.
