Hello Burris families!! I'm Melissa Gilbert, Burris principal. With over 20 years in elementary education, I have a passion for seeing students reach their potential within a nurturing learning environment. I look forward to working the families and students of Burris Elementary.

Burris Elementary is an upper elementary school that services students in grades 3, 4, and 5 in the Mitchell Community School district.  We have a staff of amazing teachers who work tirelessly to provide quality education to our students. The current focus is Math and Reading instruction while integrating important life skills such as communication and collaboration. Burris is committed to serving your child's educational needs.
