Principal's Message

Greetings and welcome to Hatfield Elementary School!  In our building, we serve students from Preschool through Grade 2.  At Hatfield, “The Future Starts Here!”

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Principal of Hatfield Elementary School. My name is Bryan Fountain, and this is my 19th year as an educator.  Having been a Bluejacket my entire life, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve our amazing school and community!  Our teaching staff at Hatfield consists of highly qualified educators who collaborate as a Professional Learning Community to ensure the academic and social growth of every child as we prepare our students to be life-long learners.  Our support staff is equally dedicated to your child’s success, and we are so excited to have so many caring adults at our school. We remain committed to ensuring that our students and families feel welcome and supported, and we will keep you updated with frequent communication every step of the way via Harmony Family Access, our Hatfield Elementary School website, and the MCS Thrillshare app.

Most importantly, student achievement will always be a top priority! We will accomplish this through our rigorous curriculum and by continuing to have a safe and welcoming environment for our students. We will celebrate student successes and strive to grow each day. At Hatfield we will continue to ensure that our students develop the skills which will assist them in working cooperatively as responsible and dependable citizens, who are aware of their role in our community.  In addition to academics, attendance plays a vital role when it comes to student achievement. We want every student to receive the education they deserve and we can accomplish this by working together to ensure your child is in school, on time, every day.

A great way to become involved at Hatfield is to join our amazing parent volunteer group, the Burris-Hatfield PTO, which plays a very active role in supporting our students, staff, and our school.  Ultimately, we believe that a strong home-school connection is vital to student success.

My door is always open, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to build relationships with each and every one of you as we embark on a new school year filled with great plans and amazing possibilities for our faculty, staff, students, and community. If I may ever be of any assistance, please feel free to stop by our office. I am here for you, our teachers, and our children. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s safety and education. It is our greatest honor!

Sincerely,

Bryan Fountain, Principal
