Hatfield First Grade Proudly Presents..."A Flurry of Fun with First Grade!" Come celebrate the season with our Music Teacher, Mrs. Crecelius, and our talented First Graders for an evening of holiday music! The program will take place on Thursday, December 11 in the Hatfield Gym. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, and the program will begin at 6:00 PM. See the attached flier for more information! What a busy week we have shared together leading up to break! From writing about what we’re thankful for, reflecting on kindness and giving back, helping our turkeys stay hidden with creative disguises, and celebrating our loved ones during Grandparent Day 2025, Hatfield students have been learning, creating, and connecting!
From the Happy Hatfield Staff, we want to wish all of our students and families a Happy Thanksgiving! Take this week to rest, unwind, and enjoy time with loved ones...along with all the festive foods and celebrations that make this season special. Mitchell Parks & Recreation is working toward an exciting goal...Building an inclusive playground where all children can play, explore, and belong. This project hopes to create a welcoming space designed with accessibility, safety, and community in mind. We had an exciting Friday at Hatfield! We began the day with an act of kindness that will make a big impact this winter. The Knights of Columbus generously donated coats for our students in need, ensuring they stay warm during the cold months ahead. We are so grateful for this wonderful organization and their continued support of our Hatfield kids.
Later in the day, the Lawrence County Community Foundation stopped by to surprise several of our teachers with Great Grant Awards! These teachers applied for grants that will help bring engaging, hands-on learning activities into their classrooms. Congratulations to Mrs. Thomas (Preschool), Mrs. Clouse (Art), Ms. Ochs (Kindergarten), and Mrs. Whaley (2nd Grade). We are so proud of each of you and can’t wait to see the incredible experiences you create with your grant awards. Thank you to the Lawrence County Community Foundation for supporting our teachers and investing in opportunities that extend student learning.

Two-Hour Delay PD = Time to Learn and Grow for Hatfield Teachers!
This morning during our two-hour delay, Hatfield teachers took part in professional development focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Mrs. Magill led an engaging and informative session, sharing strategies to help us better understand and support our students as they learn and grow. A huge thank you to Mrs. Magill for sharing your expertise and passion with our staff...and to our amazing teachers for always striving to learn more!
We also want to give a BIG shoutout to Seth Johnson (Seth Johnson Fine Arts) for creating an AMAZING new mural for our Hatfield wall! The mural is the PERFECT addition to Happy Hatfield!

Reminder: Tuesday, November 11, 2025 will be the Burris & Hatfield Veterans Day Program. The program will begin at 1:00 PM in the Burris Gym. Gym doors will be open starting at 12:30 PM. Students, staff, and visitors, please feel free to wear red, white, and blue to honor our veterans.

For Two-Hour Delays At Hatfield:
Car rider drop-off begins at 9:50 AM in the back.
Buses unload at the front at 10:00 AM.
No breakfast will be served on delay days due to lunch prep schedules.
Students may ride the bus or be dropped off—just two hours later than usual.

Congratulations to Mrs. Nolan’s First Grade Class for being named Hatfield’s October Class of the Month! This amazing group of students has shown what it means to do the right thing, be kind, listen well, and show respect every day. You are incredible examples of what it means to be great learners at Happy Hatfield! As part of their prize, Mrs. Nolan got to spin the Prize Wheel...and her class won a pizza party lunch with Mr. Fountain! Way to go, Mrs. Nolan’s class! We’re so proud of you!
