MCS 2025-2026 School Calendar

Don't forget...Friday, February 14th is an eLearning day for our Burris students!!

Congratulations to our grade level Spelling Bee winners: Mariana-3rd grade, Maeliana-4th grade, and Emma-5th grade. Outstanding job!! We are so proud of you!
Our school-wide winner was Maeliana who will compete in the Lawrence County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, Feburary 25 at Schafer Auditorium in Bedford. Good luck!!

Attention Families: Potential for eLearning!
We are closely monitoring the forecast for next week, and with the possibility of accumulating snow, all elementary students will bring home their Chromebooks and chargers on Friday, February 7th, as a precaution. As of now, school is still scheduled to be in session on Monday, February 10th. This is simply a proactive measure to ensure we are prepared for Indiana’s unpredictable winter weather. 🙂
Reminder: Chromebooks and chargers must be returned to school each day that we are in session. Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Help us celebrate National School Counseling Week 2025, which highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. A special THANK YOU to our Burris counselor, Mrs. Nicely!!!

February's Parent Bulletin

ATTENTION Burris Third Grade Parents!!! We will meet on Monday, February 17 about the upcoming state IREAD-3 assessment. The meeting will address what is assessed on the test, when it will take place, and when you will find out your child's results. We will also discuss what happens if your child does not pass in March. If your child took this assessment in second grade and passed, he/she will NOT take it this school year. You will not need to attend the meeting. Hope to see you soon!!!
