Today we had a very exciting day at Burris!!! Thanks to Huffy and Chase Briscoe we were able to give students the unique experience of a BMX performance by 9 year-old Huck and Olympian Nick. Chase also showed off his gear and gave away the first bike to one of our fourth graders!

Merry Christmas from Chase and others...
Due to the incredible generosity of Mitchell’s own, Chase Briscoe, as well as the Haas Foundation and the Huffy Foundation, every elementary (PK-5 th ) MCS enrolled student will receive a free bike this Christmas!! Words cannot appropriately express the gratitude MCS has for Chase and the amazing groups. All bikes have been assembled and that thanks goes to volunteers from VPS Architecture, Seufert Construction, Polycorp, and the impressive MHS students enrolled in Mr. Olson’s Building Trades program. Their work and generosity were key to making this gift a reality. The many logistical challenges for this unprecedented event were met by MCS administrators and staff, staff from Kinetiknet and the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce.
There may not be another school corporation in the country that can say every elementary student received a new Huffy bike for Christmas, but because of Chase and the wonderful groups of people mentioned above, MCS can. MCS can also say that this gift allowed the true spirit of the season to be put on display by the many volunteers and organizations that worked together to make this a reality for our elementary students.
Below are details for the pickup of bikes. Please read these directions carefully and contact either your building principal or Dr. Comer (812-849-4481) if you have any questions.

Pick up will be in the new MCS Fieldhouse. Please park in front of MHS/MJHS and enter the marked door of the Fieldhouse (Attached to MJHS and across from the softball field)

Thank you in advance for your patience during this process and please know that a great deal of time has been spent on not only assembling the bikes for our students, but also on the logistics involved in making sure nearly 700 bikes are handed out in an efficient manner.
MCS wishes everyone in the Bluejacket family a very blessed Christmas season!!
